To comply with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Standard 3.2.2.A, businesses must ensure that designated individuals complete a recognised Food Safety Supervisor training course and hold a nationally recognised statement of attainment. This certification must be renewed every five years to ensure supervisors stay up to date with the latest regulations and best practices.

*Note: 5 year renewal requirement extends beyond the New South Wales (NSW) Food Safety Supervisor requirement and is part of Standard 3.2.2A.

In addition to the requirement to appoint a Food Safety Supervisor with a valid statement of attainment, New South Wales requires those acting in this role to also hold a valid NSW Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

This certificate must be issued by an approved provider, who has authorisation to issue NSW Food Safety Supervisor Certificates on behalf of the NSW Food Authority.
